Last week I covered the launch party for big wave surfer waterman Chris Bertish’s SUP crossing. He will be spending 4 months solo crossing 7500 km across the Atlantic solo on a paddle board modified into a boat type design where he can be self sufficient for the voyage. The craft will have everything from desalination plant, to the most modern sat nav and also boat traffic identification radar etc and communications. This is the first time anyone will have attempted anything like this. All inspired by his passion for raising funds for various charities for children through South Africa and Africa. Carrick have partnered up with him as a sponser and they also have various charity organisations under the Carrick banner like the Signature of Hope Trust.
We wish Chris all the best and support on this huge quest.
